I typed "I cannot swim" and got it wrong. It said the correct solution was "I can't swim". I tried to report it, but that button "my answer should be accepted" was not present.

It seems the system is able to accept "can't" in place of "cannot", but doesn't recognize the substitution the other way around. I've added it in now.

Is there a difference between (bIQongbe') "You do not sleep." and "You can't sleep."?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/mizinamo

bIQongbe' is "you do not sleep"

bIQonglaHbe' is "you cannot sleep"

The suffix -laH- is for "can, be able to"

DaH "laH" jIyaj!

qayaj, 'ach {vIyaj} Dalo'nIS.

(I understand you, but you must use vIyaj). Do you know why?

jIyaj is "I understand."

vIyaj is "I understand it."

(Thanks Qov. There is no option to reply to your message.)
