What are some good french TV shows to watch with French subtitles?

What are some good french TV shows to watch with French subtitles?

I basically learned English through watching Friends & South Park. These shows don't use a terribly complex English, hence I was able to understand 70-80% of the things even with an intermediate level of English when I was first learning it.

Are there any French equivalent TV shows (with respect to language difficulty level) that you can recommend?

"Au service de la France" (a very popular series in France). Really good plot and the words are very basic, you might not get all of the references but even French people don't. French TV is mostly terrible, like most of Europe we watch american TV :'(..

Apart from the Palmashow, I don't really see anything that could fit those requirements.

I haven't actually heard of Palmashow before! Do you know if it's available anywhere with subtitles?

Palmashow is crazy hard, but at least some do have subtitles. I recommend this one because it is really funny: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKrssACbgDY.

2016 Ma Vie de Courgette (My Life as Zuchini). Find it on Netflix. Really a great cartoon for young and old.

There is an Edith Piaf movie I watched a long time ago that made want to learn french. I don't know if it has a basic vocabulary or not. There are also some french movies in netflix, you could watch them too. I will be doing the same soon when I have a better grip of french.

Btw, I did the same with english, I watched Nikita, Person of interest, Heroes and Lost, and even though at the begining I truly didn't understand anything of what they were saying that changed rather quickly.

Hi ElifBikesn, you can find a lot of things on youtube, you just have to activate subtitles. This subject on DL with this link : https://forum.duolingo.com/comment/32161741 And you can see these international french medias : http://www.tv5monde.com/ --> many, many different kind of tv shows http://www.rfi.fr/ Basicaly, as all languages, you can start with cartoons, it's the easiest. Another way : read and watch Harry Potter. Because I think you already know this story ; the first is very easy, the language becomes more complicated while the characters grow up. Have a good french ;op

'Osmosis' is cool! It should be on Netflix but I'm not sure if it's just on the French Netflix. It's a Sci-Fi show. It's not really what your looking for but it's the only French show I've liked so far.

Yes, it is available on US Netflix. It looks pretty good. The subtitles seem good also.

This might have a little too advanced French for my current level, but I'm adding to my list for when I (hopefully) have better French:) Thanks!

I liked the long long holiday (les grandes grandes vacances), on Netflix. (A cartoon miniseries about kids in northern France in WW2.) Maybe Miraculous Ladybug? I watched it in English but it's a french show. A very enjoyable kids cartoon about superheroes full of secret identity tropes.

I don’t have any suggestions, but I’d like to say that, for learning English with South Park, your English is surprisingly profanity free.

Le nom des gens is an excellent French comedy I strongly recommend it, it's one of my favourite movies. I also recommend you to listen to podcasts in French, you can find them for free on many plateforms. I am personally addicted to one called Transfert by slate! People tells you the craziest stories that happen to them during their lives!

You should watch Le Chalet on Netflix ! I just finished it last week and I really enjoyed it. Other than that, I usually watch Youtube videos in French, like Paul Taylor (even though he is British, but his videos are mostly in French!) or Cyprien. Both are comedy channels and I think you might like it :)
