‘Ber-‘ and ‘Me-‘ Verbs
I am just starting Indonesian, and I don’t know what these two types of verbs are. I also find them hard to remember. Thanks for helping,
'ber-' verbs are intransitive verbs.
'me-' verbs are mostly active transitive (needing an object).
active transitive verbs can be transformed into passive 'di-' verbs.

is transitivity and intransitivity what makes the syntax? I mean if the syntax i am writing requires transitivity i would therefore opt for a verb with the prefix me instead of ber. Are there root verbs that have versions for both ber- and me-? In that case, how do i know if it goes with ber or me? Or it applies whether there is transitivity or not in the sentence? Cheers
