I feel like there is a spelling mistake in the solution: Iya, maaf. Shouldn't it be Ya, maaf?
Iya and Ya are both correct.
I haven;t learned Iya yet/....
Ya is just like the German "ja" and the English "yeah".
I like to think of "my fault" to remember "maaf".
Oh, that's really good (my fault → maaf), I'll remember that!
Why isn't minta maaf accepted for sorry?
• Saya minta maaf: I'm sorry; I apologize.
• Maafkan saya!; maaf! = Sorry!
• Maafkan saya!; Ampunilah saya! = Forgive me!
• Maaf!; Permisi! = Excuse me!
