Just hit demonstratives and my head just exploded. I am trying to wrap my head around the 4 genders and the roles they play with words like this, that, these, those as well as this one, that one, these ones, and those ones. Does any one have any tricks they used in remembering them all? Duolingo is my foundation at learning it all but then I will use tinycards app as well as the memrise app to really grind the memorization of individual words. There are so many that was introduced in this section with very little difference in spelling. I have resorted to writing them all down on sticky notes and placing them around my house for constant practice. Any help is appreciated! :)

Essentially, the adjectives break down like this:

  • b- = animate

  • k- = inanimate

  • -s- = proximal (this)

  • -n- = distal (that)

For the pronouns there is also:

  • -y = concrete, countable

  • -ir = abstract, uncountable
