Good series for learning French.

1 . Le petit Nicolas This is definitely the best series I've ever seen in French. Nicolas is the only child in his family, but you will see his friends in almost every episode. The series has nice 3D animation and it's easy to understand. There are tons of episodes of this series on Youtube.

2 . Caillou en français Maybe the key to learning a language is by learning it the same way you learned your first language when you were a kid. Caillou is a kids series with easy language. I'm sure you'll increase your vocabulary by watching this kids show.

3 . Dennis the menace This kind of Donald duck style of animated cartoons can be both fun and good for learning. I would recommend this for anyone learning French.

If you know any good series, write them in the comments and I'll add them to the list.

Number one for me is LE PETIT NICOLAS, a series of books of short stories which are sort of a middle-class suburban Parisian counterpart to DENNIS THE MENACE. This series absolutely changed my life and pushed me into the next level in French. It's a very fun series, with a fun perspective, and it uses only verbal/conversational verb tenses. It's excellent, and the first book is also available on audiobook as well. :-) I have a whole bunch of the series and have read others from the library. It's groovy, it will change your French level. C'est chouette!

I can read so much French but even following a simple conversation like that I find so difficult. Some late nights watching cartoons I think are in order.

This is my problem too. I can comprehend a lot of French thanks to Duolingo, but my listening skills are still extremely basic.

You guys have to be careful about picking up the accent while you are watching these cartoons though. I watch Caillou too, and "T'choupi" but then I realized that the accent was different than others i heard, and I was like waaah?. These are Canadian cartoons and Canadian French accent is completely different from France French. So just know which accent you want to have.

Toupie et Binou is also a fun one. I have some of their baby board books that I practice with.

I personally watch the Power Puff Girls on TV and some other retro cartoons. I also watch animes that I grew up watching like Cardcaptor Sakura.

I love "Go, Diego, Go" in French, but sadly I can't find it online. And usually cannot watch TV an 0730 in the morning... And as I can't receive TF1 via satellite and cannot record it either. Darn shame..
