Why I decided to learn Japanese

I know this may sound a bit stupid, but I decided to learn Japanese because I'm really into Japanese pop culture. I learn so that I can understand what the anime is saying without having looking at the subtitles, or so that I can sing my favorite Hatsune Miku song without tripping over the words. If anyone else is also learning Japanese for these kind of reasons, please tell me; I don't want to feel like the only geek on Duolingo. XD

(by the way my favorite Miku song is Tell Your World, for those who are interested :D)

I feel like almost everyone's ultimate goal with learning Japanese is to be able to understand Animes or songs without subtitles :D

But I don't blame you, I started learning because of Anime too and the reason can be literally anything as long as you have fun doing it I'd say.

Yep, that's my main reason too. :P My favourite Vocaloid song is Meltdown.

My reason essentially boils down to: I wanted to learn a language, Japanese looked interesting!

Since I've started though, I've become a bit of a fan of anime. A big goal now is to be able to watch without subtitles. That's a long way off though!
