Just got new skills added to the Hawaiian tree while I was doing my daily practice.

There goes the weekend ;)

Yeah I noticed it too! So glad that the Hawaiian course is having new content added to it! Hope we'll keep getting more! It's one of my favourite courses! I've added the new skills to the duolingo wiki if anyone wants to see what the new skills are. I haven't added all the new words yet but planning on doing so. Just go towards the bottom of the page and you should see the skills that have been released: https://duolingo.fandom.com/wiki/Hawaiian_Skill:Greetings Also if you want to try out the new skills, try making a new account. I've heard that new accounts are more likely to get the new skills and it's what I've noticed with the new Norwegian and Japanese courses. Hope that helps! :-)

Aloha kākou, just a bit of an update: The new skills are indeed in an A/B test right now, and 50% of all users should be seeing them at the time of this post. When Duolingo has determined that this new version of the course results in more engagement/retention (or whatever metrics Duolingo uses to determine if this version is better than the previous one), then it should be released fully to all users.

We appreciate everyone trying out the new skills and giving us feedback, as always! If you aren't seeing the new skills yet, it is possible for you to create a new account and roll the dice to see if you get the new skills. You've got a 50% chance :)

Aloha e @Maui_Bartlett ! Is there any update on this? I've maxed out the 15 skills that Duolingo offers (up through "Music") and an unable to see the last 10 (even after making several other accounts).

Mahalo!

Aloha! This thread is a year old now, and "Music" is part of the batch of new skills that was released at that time, so it sounds like you are up to date. There are new, new skills in the works right now, and we are hoping to launch them in February (Hawaiian language month) of this next year :)

Great job maxing everything out! Hoʻomaikaʻi!

Hiki nō! Thank you for your answer! I thought I saw some users up to 25 skills while mine was at 15, so I was a little confused. Thanks for clearing it up - I look forward Hawaiian language month! XD

A mahalo :)

Mahalo nui, e Duolingo!

I didn't get any. What is the name of your last skill?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/oruga_fantasma

Music.

The new skills: Order food, Habits, Determiner 2, O and A, Home Life, ʻOhana 2, Social, Numbers 2, School, ʻOhana 3, School 2, Sports, and Music.

Except for adding another lesson to the Determiner skill, all the new content is after the Purchases skill - so everything's nice and tidy.

Thanks for the info. I don't have those yet :(

Wow, there’s 30 skills now. I finished the tree when it was new and it had only something like 8?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/oruga_fantasma

Yes. There's lots more content, audio on almost everything and out of Beta in less than a year.

Amazing job, Duo contributors!

Indeed! I need to do the course. Hawaiian is the only non-English official language of a state.

Such great news!

Ok 2 months and I still see the old tree. PLEASE HELP

Sorry for the long wait, folks! Our new tree has been getting decent stats so far, and will likely be showing up for everyone sometime in September. We know folks are eager to get started on the new lessons and appreciate you hanging in there. We can't wait for it to come out too!

I am not seeing the new skills on my computer or my phone. Anyone know how to bring them up?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/oruga_fantasma

I've never been part of the test group on an A/B test before, but I'm guessing this is what's going on.

Since this is a relatively small upgrade (and no glitches so far on my end!) hopefully it will be released to everybody else soon... like the new Japanese tree.

My wife has the skills but I don't. I also tried creating a new account but it does not have the new skills.

Hello! I am looking for someone who wants to change phone numbers to practice the Hawaiian language! Tks!

Is your offer still open? :)

Two weeks later and still the new tree hasn't opened to me...

I received a reply from Doulingo about a week ago saying the the new skills were only made available to about 50% of the Hawaiian users. They said that I go try a new account but it was hit and miss on whether I would be part of the 50% with the news skills. I tried 3 times with a new account and each time I did not have the new skills. It could be a long time before the new skills are rolled out to everybody. Meanwhile, I am using my wife's account to learn the new skills.
