All gold german tree!
My German tree is all gold!
620 days, 95000 XP, 607 Crowns
I admit I tested out of a couple of the very early lessons (there is only so much bread and water i can cope with) but other than that i have done the lot.
I can listen to simple stories now and I forget that I am listening in German, I am just following the stories. I can read to a basic degree. My mental processing to speak German in real-time is lacking, but that will come.
thank you Duo.
I will do the new tree when it appear for me, and complete the reverse tree.
Congratulations! Can you tell us more about your approach? Did you have a specific method or routine to go through the tree?
I usually got each dot in a block (separated by the test out markers) to crown level 3, then i would do each to level 4, then go back again to get them all to 5.
Then i would move onto the next 'block'
I would periodically do a few practice lessons from each gold dot in turn (making a note of how far i got). revision, if you will.
I also did a few lessons from memrise and Babbel a week.
I use the fabulous podcasts from DW, available online
Also i listen to the even more fabulous short stories by Andre Klein (cafe in Berlin is the first one ), available on google play.
in the early days i would watch a great many you tube videos like German with Jenny, and German with Anja, and the guy with the red bow tie, i forget his name.
I do Duolingo every day, but i do the above periodically to no set timetable.
seems like a lot now i have written it down...
Thank you for the details, they are very helpful and I will try some of them. I agree that DW has fabulous resources to learn German!
I like your idea of doing revisions on golden skills, because spaced repetition shouldn't stop once a dot is yellow. Duome has a tool for this, on https://duome.eu/Lobsterism/progress you can sort by date and it will tell you the last time you practiced a skill, but I fear it is redundant with your note taking.
Congratulations again, you are motivated and persistent, I am sure that you will continue to learn beyond Duolingo :). Viel Erfolg!
Exactly. Duome only shows one at a time. I do not know if you can influence it, maybe it displays the last tree you logged progress and pulls that data?
How are you liking the reverse tree, do you think it is good for your learning?
Is there a new German tree coming up? I haven't seen any information about that.
Ausgezeichnet, Sehr Gut. Ich werde ein Lingot für dich geben, denn sie haben es verdient!
Good effort, I know exactly how you feel with the speaking, I just keep going until it works. I need to do a lot more to get to your level first.
Wonderful accomplishment! I'm anxiously awaiting the new tree and hope that the extra content will help me.
can you tell me how much xp you earn in day i mean you do this with insane level or easy level i would be very happy if you can anser me iam just learning german language and i like to know how much time it takes
