Course request: Persian
Apparently annoying the Duolingo staff and asking repeatedly for new language courses does work (see: Swedish, Danish), so here is my request: Add Persian - English! (Please?)
Why? - about 60Mio native speakers. - acc. to Wikipedia it's used in about 9 countries - it is part of the branch of the Indo-European languages and therefore it's easier to learn in terms of grammar than Arabic or other Middle Eastern or Asian languages - there are a couple of other languages that are either dialects of Persian or related in some other way (Dari, Kurdish etc.), which means learning Persian would be a good start for anybody who eventually wants to learn one of those other languages
Yes mine too! Would be nice to be able to finally communicate freely with my loved ones
A Persian course would be so cool! Persian is such a sweet and pretty language.
If Persian is added I would learn it, a lot of linguists say it's their favorite language and it is supposed to be the most beautiful language in the world!! not to mention the 1000's of years of great history and culture behind it.
Very true. Not nearly enough credit is given to Persia's place in world history.
yes! I'm a girl that speaks Persian! And love to learn English but i can't !!
yes! i have skill about learning languages! but i need practice more ...

Please add Persian to your courses! I would use it every day. It is seriously the most beautiful language I have ever heard. Because of its beauty it has spawned the largest branch of the Indo-European language family. That's over 2/3rds of all Indo-European languages!!! Every surrounding country always picked it as the language of trade or diplomacy so it spread like wild fire. It is the Italian/ French of the middle east.
So by adding Farsi you can expand your user base 3 fold. That's a lot of bang for your buck and expansion for your business.
Persian sounds like spoken song. It has a lot of sh, oo, ahh, French J sounds which is what Romance language speakers love about French. It also has a lot of ch, a, o, and slightly trilled "r" sounds which is what Romance language speakers love about Italian and Spanish. All this without having nasal sounds. It's also a very rhyme-y language. Plus it has incredible musical flow.
It is a gender neutral language with a gender neutral he/she pronoun and no "the" articles are necessary. You say " Lets go to park," instead of "Let's go to the park." This may make it easier to program. Plus you can teach it in Pinglish (Persian using English letters) if that would make it easier of for you, if not their Person-Arabic script is fine too. All I care about is being able to speak it.
i am a Persian native speaker and i know English. i can help if you want. thanks all the friend for their tender opinions about Persian !
