Early Stages of Learning
I am taking Spanish 2 in school and found this website a couple days ago to help me with it. I'm a native English speaker, and last year I learned Korean on my own. For some reason I am having a hard time learning Spanish, and I was just wondering if you had any tips or anything to help?
You basically need to practice practice practice. spanish is a very verb-driven language, and it works inside of "moods" (ie. Subjunctive, etc) and tenses. Learning the conjugations in the different moods and tenses is probably the hardest part of spanish. Your vocabulary will outshine your grammar for a while, but one day the grammar will catch up and you will start to sound like you know what you're talking about.
I suggest checking out the grammar section at learnspanish.com and look through the lessons for the following topics....
Ser vs. Estar (Unit 2)
Object Pronouns (Unit 4)
Those are two "big" topics in spanish (among others) but they are needed earlier on than DL intoduces them imho. Suerte.
I like the Spanishdict.com Grammar Section for drilling grammar exercises. You can read a brief explanation and take a 40 question "quiz". I like these quizzes more than most sites, because after each question you get immediate feedback, that you can hopefully apply to the next question to get it correct.
