Is there a Duolingo word List?

I am wondering if there is a list of words that we learn in various levels in duilingo. In the home page it shows how many words I know, but I think it would have been helpful if it also showed which words I have learned so that I could go back and refresh my memories every now and then.

If you know anything about it please let me know.

There used to be a vocabulary tab which had all the words you had learned.

It was removed in the redesign in Jan 2014

People complained about it's loss.

The return of the vocabulary was expected in late Apr or early May according to the last comment from Duolingo staff.

Stil waiting.

when i started learning with duoling more than one year ago there was a vocabulary list showing the strength of each word. I also would love to have it back in order to know how many words i´ve learned so far...

Ahh thats sad :( After reaching level 6 I have found there are new words in every sentence and at this point I am learning a lot of new words, but I'm not confident that I'm retaining many. I hope the admins put the vocab tab back.

While waiting for the vocab tab to return, there's Memrise, where several users have compiled their own versions of Duolingo vocabulary, nothing official of course: http://www.memrise.com/courses/english/french/?q=duolingo+french

I've only dabbled in French for one day, so not sure which of these is the best (check them out), but I've been using Memrise to drill other stuff for a while now, and totally recommend it :) if you consider some words learned or unnecessary, you can turn them off and thus exclude them from repetition sessions, but still see them in the overview

If this doesn't satisfy you, and you have enough time and motivation, you might also consider making your own set of flash cards, and adjust them to your specific needs and wishes

good luck! :)

If u go 2 the lessons that you have, the lessons will show you what words u r going 2 learn or have already learned. So if u go to Basics 1 or any other skills then it will show the lessons within the skill and u will get to see what words u will learn or u had learned. However, i wish there was an easier way 2 locate words u had learned or are gonna learn in the next lessons.

Are the vocab lists different language to language? I know they are mostly the same but I think I'm noticing slight variations.

I haven't yet seen turtles in German :(

Just for reference, turtle is die Schildkröte, which literally means shield toad (der Schild + die Kröte). Not to be confused with a sign (das Schild).

Yup, no bears in French. Turtles and spiders, though.

The bears are here in french - lots of them :) Might depend on whether you use the app or online. I use online version.

I use both. Maybe I have just forgotten all about the bears?! At least there is no "Ton ours boit de la bière." sentence like in Spanish (or I have forgotten that one, too).

There's been a few cats drinking tea, which probably isn't good for them.

A flash card app is also helpful. I save all my words on my phone and look at them when in the supermarket, the bus, out walking etc.

If we had a list that contains vocab from dulingo then that would have been great as we are learning and using new words from dulingo anyway.

Just throw in: I'd love a SIMILAR vocab feature. (e.g. Portuguese: Ver, Viajar, Voltar, Voar [some conjugations more similar than root]) [Modified Edit Distance: heavy weight on first letter; uses minimum distance among all conjugations/declinations for a word.]
