What's your favorite thing to say in Japanese?
Whats everyone's favorite word/phrase to say in Japanese?
My personal favorite is, パンを食べる
辻斬り is one of my favorite japanese words ive learned for the sheer ridiculousness of the definition: "killing a passerby in order to test a new sword" i can just imagine dudes killing other dudes for absolutely no reason other than to test the cutting power of their new katana and it makes me laugh. my favorite recent word is 一丸となって though because it sounds cool and is fun to shout at people when theyre uncoordinated. makes me feel like some old sensei or something i dunno. fun question though!
oh and i read yours as ペンを食べる at first and i laughed because i thought you were making fun of the classic, "これはペンです" so thanks for that.
Funny thing is that I think I can read what you wrote, which could be sign that I'm learning some Japanese, good luck on your studies mate! By the way my favorite thing to say is ちょっとまってください。
With my level of studying right now, I've learned enough to have "これはアメリカです" be my favourite thing to say.
My favorite is そうじゃなくて。I've never had a chance to use it, but I like how it sounds.
It must be ほんとうに because I tend to exaggerate a bit and then I need to explain. I also like the form します because it reminds me of a Finnish word "simasuu".
I like this:
I know it is angry and impolite, but the sound of the phrase is really nice.
Wouldn't say it's my favourite thing to say, but when I started learning Japanese one of the first words I learned in katakana was ホットドッグ. I didn't know what katakana was used for at the time so it came as quite a surprise how non-Japanese words remain more or less the same, and seemed to just be crowbarred in to kana. It really made me smile and want to learn more about how the language works!
I like the word for sweet "amai" (too lazy to find the kanji). It just rolls of the tongue and sounds so pretty to me. "Amaaaaiiiiiiii"...
lol reading this make me see how weird my response is.
