Duolingo is the most popular way to learn languages in the world. Best of all, it's 100% free!

The website freezes

Very often, at the end of a lesson, the website freezes. I can't get any further, the only thing I can do is close the site, lose my results and start all over again. This is no fun at all!

I reported this problem several times, but there isn't anybody who seems to bother.

I use Chrome and also have this problem. Eventually it will work again so I just leave the page on and do something else while I wait a couple of minutes for it to respond again. It's very annoying but changing browser would be more annoying as I do everything through Chrome and don't have any other problems.

The fact that you get no to your report reply is indeed annoying.

But it is very likely that the freezing itself is related to the specific browser, as Desmond writes, and that it would be impossible or nearly impossible for Duolingo to do anything about it.

I use the expression "nearly impossible" because one could always do more testing with different browsers and versions of them, and so on, but most probably the most efficient way to get rid of this problem is for the user to change to another browser that works.

Thanks for the comment. You could be right, maybe it's the browser. But I don't have these problems on other websites, its just Duolingo that doesn't work properly. I am using Safari on a Mac computer, I will try another browser, maybe that will help.

I personally would start of by clearing the cache to see if that works & if not try using chrome

Happened to 30 seconds ago at the end of a French lesson. I love that Duolingo is free and it is an AMAZING resource and very fleshed out, but this does seem to be happening quite a bit and I have an absolute leviathan of an internet connection, so I know the problem is not on my end...
