"He has to cook"

Requiring the use of "has to" as a translation for the subjunctive, in the absence of a word like "lazima" or "sharti", or a phrase like "imepasa, imebidi, etc.", is misleading if not simply wrong. "Apike" is more like a suggestion "he should cook" or, although it sounds a bit awkward in this case, "let him cook". Just as "tuende/twende" means "we should go" or "let's go". IMO, there is no notion of "have to do something" in a simple subjunctive expression.
