Arabic Word of the Day 53#
Hello! Today we're going to look at using future tense. Don't worry because future tense is really easy! We have two different ways to represent future tense and today, we're going to look at one of them:
Here we have three present tense verbs:
ألعب = "Al3ab" = I play /I am playing
يسبح = "Yasbah^" = He swims /is swimming
ترسم = "Tarsum" = She draws [is drawing] / You [m] draw [you are drawing]
Now with the first way, all we're going to do is add the word "سوف " [sawfa] before the verb and we're done! ;D So now, they'll look like this:
سوف ألعب = "Sawfa al3ab" = I will play / I am going to play
سوف يسبح = "Sawfa yasbah^" = He will swim / He is going to swim
سوف ترسم = "Sawfa tarsum" = She will draw [she is going to draw] / You [m] will draw [You are going to draw]
Simple! Now here's a few example sentences:
غدا، سوف أذهب إلى السوق = "Ghadan, sawfa ath'hab ila alsooq^" = Tomorrow, I will go to the shop
أبي سوف يشتري سيارة جديدة = "Abee sawfa yashtaree say'yaara jadeeda" = My dad is going to buy a new car - "yashtaree" means "he buys" ["I buy" is "ashtaree"]. "jadeeda" also means "new" [I'm not sure if you already know this word]
أنا و سوسن سوف نذهب إلى المطعم اليوم = "Anaa wa Sawsan sawfa nath'hab ila almat^3am alyawm" = Me and Sawsan are going to the restaurant today
متى سوف نذهب؟ = "Mata sawfa nath'hab?" = When will we go?
Thanks for Reading! Any Qs, Proof-reading, Suggestions, Possible Improvements, please comment below! Thanks! ;D Tomorrow we'll go through the second way of using future tense, until then, good night! :D
got it! looks like I'll soon be able to talk in a little Spanish before learning it (too bright HA?!
Been testing out colour texts? ;D I was looking at one of those posts recently
Did it work? Last time it didn't ;p Let's see...
Bad for people who are colour blind! XD [Luckily men are much more likely to be colour blind then women LOL ]
Pink is my sister's favourite colour. I hate purple cause I have to wear it to school >_<.
Ugh no I don't like the colour pink! ;p I prefer blue ... I don't mind purple! Wait, you have a purple school uniform? Lucky! :D I have a black one [dull so original!] ... Just walking home in the summer is the worst =_=
Yeah I got a purple and grey uniform.
Everyone in my class wants to change it to black. I'd like navy blue tho. :)
Purple and grey? That's nice! We have a white shirt, black blazer, black trousers, black shoes, black socks, a blue tie and a navy jumper. Purple and grey is mad! We look like penguins waddling XD
Like a waiter XD.
Cause I have to go to an all girl Islamic school, I wear a purple hijab, a grey abaya(most people wear a grey skirt and white shirt but you can wear an abaya if you want. those skirts are so stiff), a grey blazer and black shoes.
People actually come to school with pyjamas under their abayas. It's really weird but I understand.
Oh I had a feeling you went to an Islamic school! I don't lol [I mean there's only one Islamic school in our city so... and I'm pretty sure it's a primary school] Lucky you don't have to wear ties... The only advantage is, is that you can use it to hang yourself in English... Or slap someone with it of they're being a pain ;p
Yeah, I totally understand! XD I always wear my pyjamas beneath my coat and go to the shops XD LOL No-one realises ;p
منذ بضعة اشهر سألتينى ان كنت اعرف قنوات جيدة على اليوتيوب لتعلم الالمانية
للاسف رايت هذا السؤال بعد سؤاله ب8 اشهر
والاجابة للاسف لا اعلم اى قناة على اليوتيوب للالمانية وانا تركت هذه اللغة اساسا لاننى لا احبها وكنت مرغم هلى تعلمها بسبب المدرسة
همم وجدت قناة جيّدة اسمها Hallo Deutschule =)
لماذا تكره الألمانية؟ أنا كذلك أتعلمها للمدرسة، لكنّني أحبّها وخاصّة النّطق ^^
تتداخل مع الانجليزية ، بتخلينى اقرا الانجليزي اكنه المانى
وادوات التعريف رخمة جدا
Deutsch ist nicht interrasant
بالفعل هي تشبه الإنجليزيّة كثيرًا، وأدوات التّعريف تكاد تفقدني عقلي، لكنّها تبقى جميلة ^^
وشكرًا على اهتمامك! لقد توقّفت في ذلك الوقت عن التّعلّم، لكنني بدأت من جديد! آمل أن أبلي حسنًا لأنّني سأدرسها ولأوّل مرّةٍ العام القادم بمعاملات مرتفعة =(
Don't think it will go well. I might try one day in the distant future maybe ;)
I was just asking if that was in Somali ;D You could just tell us a word every now and then :) [I know some words, but they're all bad words so I'm not gonna say them XD]
Ikr! Takes soo long to type that's why I normally write in transcription ;p
;p Too much energy! Plus there's no standard Amazigh it just depends where you live, it's even spoken in Spain and Cyprus so... found an excuse for my laziness! ;D
really?! didn't know! well I know few words like Azool, Tetmireth... LOL too hard to write!
انا بخير والحمد لله.
You don't know how much you have to focus to write just a few words by keyboard. No-one can
You know you can always use the keyboard on Google Translate, and set it to the transcription mode [you type transcription and then it turns into Arabic script] ;D
Excelent material, thank you! I am totally new to arabic and want to know more about pronuntiation. How is the sound in the word ب ? Is it 'bu' like google translate does, or just 'b' ala3ab or ala3abu ?
Umm by coincidence, you've happened to question on more advanced Arabic [and it's kind of hard to explain and I don't want to confuse you, especially since you're a beginner]. Basically, it depends on the word after it in a sentence; this is to do with more complex grammar rules. The general pronunciation is "Al3ab", but depending on the word after it, it could become "Al3abu". No-one notices this change in speech so it shouldn't matter. Normally, it's taken into account, when in text rather than in speech, so no worries! For the time being, I'd remember it as "al3ab" ;D Thanks for the great question, sorry I won't be able to explain this to you now :(
Aywa keef hal haal? Ana amercani bas emmi ou aboi min souria. Mahbaraf laysh am bahilak, bas shifta hay bil madrasay ou mah am barayf ish amayel so rahet ala duolingo ou shifta hay.
