[GUIDE] Duo emoji
And other character images people might like to know about, that can by used in Duolingo Markdown:
Reference List : Duo emoji
Below is a list of Duo emoji's that I am intending on expanding for reference, and providing so that people (including myself ) can access them easily for use in posts in Duolingo forums.
For more information on how to post pictures, check out the references mentioned above.

It would be appreciated if you did not use this discussion to test out how to produce these images. I would you suggest it is better for you use these in your posts in other discussions.
If you have other images that you think others would like to use as emoji in their posts, please share them here.
Also, thank you to those that are up voting this post, as it will make it easier to be found.
It may even get to be popular.
And thank you to those that are giving lingots in appreciation to this post. I love getting lingots, as I love giving them out. And also being able to buy streak freezes for when I need them. Global Ambassadors are volunteers in this community. We are passionate about the value and importance of language learning and this community. And yes - ones such as I - also enjoy receiving lingots. It is a way you can say thank you.
If people can improve on the "tinyness" of these images, while still being able to be seen, also feel free to do this, and I would encourage you to share them here, so that you and others in our community may be able to use them to embellish their posts. When we share and brainstorm together it can be fantastic what we can achieve and have fun doing it.
Also some bonus ones that are animated:

Also I have hidden some links to other posts/tweets/information here. See if you can find them ...

To find out the reference to a picture, and you are using Google as your browser :
- Hover your mouse over the picture.
Press the right mouse key.
a box will pop up with options such as:
- Open image in a new tab
- Save image as ...
- Copy image
- Copy image address
- Search Google for image
If you are using a different Browser, find out the short cut that will allow you to "Copy image address".
Select "Copy image address".
Then paste this to a text space, such as here in a reply box to a discussion, or to a note pad.
ie in this example the image address is :
So now that you have that information, you now need to put the markdown code around it, that will allow the image to be shown here.
For you I have accessed this discussion through my android phone.
If you hold your finger down on the image, a menu comes up:
Open in browser
Search Google for this image
If you "Open in Browser" it will open a new tab for you
And in the case of the fireworks picture above, it will give you a chance to "copy" the link - by showing you 2 small squares sitting over each other.
If you copy the link, you can then paste it to an area such as here, that will give you the link to the picture.
You then just surround it with the appropriate code of :
!(enter link to picture here)
★★★ WOW! If anyone goes far and beyond the call of duty, it's definitely ☞ YOU!. Thank you Linda!
Thank you daKanga! I highly suspected one might need a computer to "hover" over an image.
However, I am doomed as I do not have one - just a phone! ☹ Thanks once more for your help. Have written down how to do this - just in case I have access to a desktop one of these days!
Muchos Gracias! 🌺
Of course Lin da Kanga roo kanga! For some reason when I upvote, it doesn't "stick" and returns to zero.
Will try again. You are totally upvoted anyway - whether or not it stays that way! Thank you for everything (and for the lingots!). Take care! ♡♡♡
I have found a great link to resources of duo emoji's that have been captured here: https://twitter.com/alissamarie/status/1123787662035386368
Please feel free - those who are skilled, to take mini copies of individual images from this set, and make them available for others to use in our Duolingo forums.
I am endeavoring to do what I can. But it would be great if others shared the glory. It would be great to see others empowering themselves and sharing their skills.
I upload them to https://imgur.com/ . However there are many other image hosting sites.
I do find Imgur quite easy to use. You will need to create an account to be able to load up images.
I look forward to seeing how you go.
As well as using Imgur I first resize the images.
To find out how to do this, check out https://forum.duolingo.com/comment/32666710 . It is appreciated if you could provide links to small images here on this post.
And making errors is not a problem, when you learn from them and correct what you post.
I look forward to seeing how you, or perhaps others go.
Keep asking questions.
Thank you for this expression of keenness Lightning_11.
I have just created a new post on how to change the size of an image.
And please ask questions there as to how to change the size of an image.
Here is the link to Duolingo https://www.duolingo.com/terms
And making a call on this is above my pay grade. I am a volunteer, and this is not my area of expertise in any way. My wild and out there guess would be that if you do not earn any income or backhanders from using the image, and do not use it for commercial reasons, that Duolingo is likely to be ok for you to use the images on other platforms and discussions.
ie, if you use it just for your own personal use it is OK.
However - this is IMO. Unless we get an official response from Duolingo staff on this issue.
Do you know how to do that ?
Please feel free to post the images and links up here on this discussion, if you work out how to do it.
Also, for the sake of others - you can find out more information as to how to do this in:
edited: also ensure they do not infringe copywrite.
It's really simple. You can use HTML codes for this! 😎
You'll find a list of the codes here (use the Dec code):
Grab the code for the smiley you want. They're in the format:
6-digit-number+ semicolon (
And just paste that code like any other word, into your sentence.
