"باب وَجاكيت"

Translation:a door and a jacket

Yes it doesn't say 'a' anywhere and the quicker people know that the better. It's implied.

A isn't needed twice

It sort of is here... "a door and jacket" would imply that doors and jackets are commonly found together and considered as a unit. Examples: You'd say "I have a coat and tie." but "I have a dog and a cat."

Is وَ a word on its own? Why is it not a separate bubble from جاكيت?

The letter وَ means "And" but it's mostly glued with next word. So it's وجاكيت not و جاكيت

I don't want to get into details alot here , but the letter Waw ( و ) is one of a group of letters called ( حروف العطف ) and those letters are glued with the next word.
