The -un ending, signalling nominative (=subject) case for indefinite singular nouns and adjectives, just as all remaining case endings, is restricted to standard (formal, official) Arabic. In casual conversation (dialects) it is obligatorily left out (except for certain fixed expressions and grammatical constructions).
