πέρυσι and Swiss Dialect

The word πέρυσι always felt familiar to me and therefore very easy to remember. Now I know why, thank to wictionary. (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/f%C3%ABret). The old word "feret", used in Swiss German Dialect and meaning "last year" has the same Etymologal origin as the Greek πέρυσι. The word "feret" is almost never used enymore, young people rarely would understand it. But when I was a child my Grandfather used it regularly. I hope, Greeks will not lose all their old words. I like it to detect the relations between the different languages.

The etymology of words and seeing how they have traveled to other languages is a fascinating topic. Thanks for sharing this.

Cool stuff, I like obscure Indo-European cognates. Thanks.
