is it a female cat or the noun cat is female itself?
I was told that this is the word for a female cat.
For a male cat (or unknown) would be: قطّ
is that the origin of the english word cat?
Yes as well as in many other languages.
Can't be taught old tricks.
The ق is usually replaced with a ء when speaking colloquially, right?
But I heard قطتك جديدة and that was deemed the correct response when I chose it from the word bank, which didn’t offer قطة as a choice.
Is the translation not: 'your cat is new'? Not 'a new cat'?
