This is an interesting one. Coat is correct in classical arabic. Usually we say Kaboot. For a begineers course in Arabic, isn't it better to teach the student the more commonly used word. The only caveat is if there are other words than Kaboot to refer to a coat. In Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Egypt it would be understood. I'm not sure about other countries.

I put ليس عندي معطف and was told the solution was ليس عندي قبعة ; this is wrong.
