Getting next skill tree

How do I get the next skill tree? I saw one on someone else's phone.

There's only one tree for each language. They do sometimes run tests where some users have different trees, but it's still one tree per user. If theirs was longer, though, it probably means they're updating (especially since you're learning Hawai'ian which is a short tree) and you'll get it eventually. But there's nothing to do but wait for it.

thanks so much. My guess is the person I saw bought it after it was updated. I'll search using key word update and see if I can find one. If not, it doesn't hurt to keep reviewing until I can use it in everyday life! Aloha nui!

There are 13 new skills that were added about month ago. But these skills are only available to about 50% of the users. When they feel that all or most of the bugs are out, it they will be available to everyone. The 50% is a totally random selection and there is no way to request the new skills. It was suggested to try creating a new account to see if you would be part of the 50%. I tried 3 times without any luck. My wife has the new skills, so I have been using her account for the time being.

Thank you! Now I can stop trying to figure this out. I will just keep reviewing until the new stuff comes out. It's such an easy convenient way to learn a language!! Aloha, Gail BTW, you have learned all those languages??? Awesome!

Mahalo, the "Eka" user ID is one that I created to try to get the additional skills. It did not work, but I still keep that ID up so that my wife can use it when I get the new skills. On my regular ID "Ed Allan", I completed the first 17 skills about 4 months ago. I started Japanese and Polish when there was nothing left for me to do in Hawaiian except practice. To me, the practice sessions are the key to learning on Doulingo.

I didn't notice that Hawaiian was on your list -- do you live on Maui? Go to the events?

No, I live on Oahu but I am currently on the mainland until the end of the year. Were you looking at the top post with several different languages? That wasn't me. You should only see the Hawaiian flag for the "Eka" ID.

Ah, got it. I was surprised how many people are doing Hawaiian but then UH has free classes for parents of immersion kids. I did those for a while until it turned into memorizing lists of vocabulary. I really like Duolingo format.
