The basic standard language is better for beginners. Even though they are not taught about the Standard Grammar, at least, the students should know about بلدُكَ "baladuka" (and not بلدَك "baladak" only). In English course, we don't learn any Slang (such as "whatta h*ll") but formal one, right? Why should Arabic be in some Slangs and not Standard (or fuSa)?

Well, it may be a typo, but it would actually be pronounced differently and have two different meanings.
