It seems that both Tunisia and Tunis are تونس in Arabic. Appears strange. So, how does one know if the city of the country is referred to?

Why can't we write Arabic romanization as legitimate answer when they use that same romanization to teach us words? :/ I typed in 'zayd min tuunis'
