"Dakar and Juba"

Translation:داكار وَجوبا

June 30, 2019

Why does it sounds like she's saying wa-Juban (with an n sound at the end)?

This matter is brought up in a few places. Here's a link: https://forum.duolingo.com/comment/32896328 There are other places, too, so you could do a search to see other responses to this good question. Here's another place: https://forum.duolingo.com/comment/32830304 Since DL Arabic is in Beta form, there are some glitches. If you get an introductory Arabic grammar, look under nunation or tanwīn. Apparently it will become clearer in time as we progress. Peace.

Juba = Djouba? (capital of South Sudan)

Why is و sometimes connected to the next word sometimes not?

It actually is never connected. "That letter" (Dont have arabic kryboard on yet) is never connected to any word infront of it. Only letters behind it can connect to it (if the letter behind it is a letter that connect in front of it of course.
