Duolingo Stories for Swedish

Hi! I was wondering if there is any prospect of the stories feature found in German and Spanish to be featured in Swedish. I really hope it will come to Swedish as it helps learners learn the language in context.

Agree, this would be a great feature to have for Swedish learners.

Oh, I hope so. I already maxed out to level 5 in the entire Swedish tree, and I'd really like a reason to keep coming back here, but there's nothing left here that helps me push my skills anymore.

Om du är klar med svenskan kan du ju alltid göra norsk- och danskkurserna! :)

I would also love to see stories featured in Swedish, but as far as I'm aware, that is a Duolingo-wide thing that we contributors do not have control over.

In Dutch for English, some of the Dutch natives are translating the official stories of other languages into Dutch and post it on the forum. First the story with the questions followed by the solutions. Some are also linked to a google document. I don't know if many people read it because there is no XP reward, but if people are interested it might be an option to get stories in Swedish before stories become available in more languages.

Well I, for one, would read them and would shower the posters with lingots of gratitude :) Thanks for planting the seed...

That's a way of getting to the reading part of the stories, though not the listening part. For reading and listening to texts, there is LingQ.com, a website with a rich collection of materials for ear and eye and in many different languages, including Swedish. I can't say that those materials are as carefully curated as Duo's stories (and really, what is?), but there is a lot of there there.

Det hoppas jag också.

Thanks for asking the question again. That's been on my wish list for a long time. I realize that Swedish isn't one of Duo's core languages and is probably not near the top of any owl priority lists; on the other hand, the stories themselves now exist and theoretically could be translated into Swedish, the translations validated and then read aloud by a native speaker. It would cost effort, time and money, I know, but not nearly what it must have cost to launch the story feature itself. (Personally, that's a feature I'd be willing to pay for, though it may be that those who need it most might be least able to afford it. Sigh.)

Hi! I was looking for stories too, and this subject is widely discussed. I manage to find a discussion about it and one of fellow Duolingo user, Ullisvarupptaget ( I hope he will not be offended) proposed his own stories. He made a discussion on forum where he posts them, writen in Swedish and translated to English (without the audio). Here is the link: https://forum.duolingo.com/comment/33381777 I hope that it helped. :) Lycka till!
