A very big thank you to the volunteer course maintainers.
".....But reports are collected and presented to the volunteer course maintainers...." "….they will go through the reports eventually. But there are many hundreds of sentences and possibly thousands of reports, so it can take a while - months, sometimes..."
Volunteers are usually unnoticed, under appreciated and under valued. So a big thank you to all the volunteers including the moderators that maintain the course material.
@George791777, I am so glad you decided to post this. Duolingo is a huge language learning base, and with all the users and content it has, there needs to be some people to maintain everything. A large handful of these people are volunteers who put in their own hours to make sure Duolingo is up and running in the best way possible. Without even getting paid, these volunteers work extremely hard to guarentee that Duolingo is at its most efficient each and every day. They go through thousands of reports and issues with course materials daily, and though it may go under our noses, these volunteers are the backbone to Duolingo.
As you said, volunteers are "...usually unnoticed, under appreciated, and under valued." That's very true. The people who put in their personal time to do this for the Duolingo community are truly remarkable people. Our favourite language learning app would not be the fantastic base it is today had it not been for the hours of troubleshooting and maintenance that these volunteers have done for absolutely free.
Again, I'm so happy you decided to initiate this post! (Take a lingot!) I'd like to thank all of the volunteers who went through hours of hard work to make sure Duolingo was at its best at all times for users like us. And, a special shout out to the moderators who maintain the course material as well. We couldn't have done any of this without you!
고맙습니다! Love and thousands of thanks from Korea!!
Edit: I have to say, it's not just the volunteers that are unnoticed and under appreciated. It's also posts like these! No matter the amount of comments or upvotes, keep it up! You're doing great!
I very much appreciate all volunteers and everyone involved in keeping this site going. Thanks to all of you.
Thanks for posting this. We need to show more love especially to the people who make our language courses possible.
I add my thanks to everyone, course contributors and also those who spend their time monitoring endless bug reports.
I second this - congratulations to the volunteers. I have made several reports and suggested additional translations, particularly in the Chinese course. While it may sometimes take some months they are all responded to eventually.
The volunteer moderators for the Greek course have done, and continue to do, a huge amount to correct any issues and to answer questions in the forums.
Thanks so much to them!
Thank you all for your volunteer time and energy for this awesome movement in language learning !
Thanks to all the Duolingo Volunteers Courses Maintainers for their hard work and dedication. QUESTION: How does one become a volunteer?
Absolutely! Thanks for reminding us to appreciate all those who volunteer their time. It's easy to take it for granted, and we shouldn't. A huge thanks to the volunteers!
