Why do you learn French?
I honestly I started learning French on a whim, but I've found that I really love the language, and it has introduced me to French culture I never knew about nor appreciated before. But what about you? Why did you all start learning French, and why do you continue to learn it?
I'm learning it because of it's similarity to Spanish (which I am about A2 level in) and because I wanted a new lingual challenge.
I started learning it in high school, mainly because I thought it was a very classy language. Now that I'm older I'm looking to get more fluent as I like to travel to Europe and would enjoy speaking with locals in their native tongue.
I am learning because Portuguese was my second language and I want to learn more words and phrases. And Duolingo has been very helpful and it has encouraged me a lot with learning new languages.
I'm learning it because my best friend is a native, and I would like to be able to speak his native language. Not exactly the same accent, since his is Quebec french, but it's something. Also I want to later move to a french speaking country. ^^ I just really enjoy the language and the culture--
I don't really like French culture but I do enjoy the language and the music. I think I learn French probably because I love the accent so much and would love to communicate in French some day!
