In Egyptian Arabic, "ya bni" and "ya binti" ("O my son" and "O my daughter," respectively) are very common ways of colloquially addressing a friend, like English "dude," "bro," "mate," "fam," etc.

we seem to be getting a variety of different pronunciations of the endings for "my" and for the feminine form - not surprising since Arabic is a very widely dispersed language, but could somebody give a brief explanation of this - just when I thought I was getting hold of it I find myself confused again.
