I found it interesting to know that Arabic conserved two different names of the Mediterranean: the Turkish/Greek name "the white sea" (as opposing to the black sea) = al2byaD, and the "middle" sea (since it is surrounded with land)= almutawassaT

Sifar (Zero) is صفر while safar (travel) is سفر

The words are totally different. Notice the 'Si' and the 'sa'.
