Why do i have to use "ku'u" here? I dont see why "ko'u" is wrong

"Tita" is pidgin, Hawaiian slang. The letter "T" is not in the Hawaiian alphabet.

The T is a sound used in Hawaiian even before the arrival of Cook. It is due to the missionaries that it is not included in the alphabet. The people of Ni‘ihau still use T in place of K actually.

So, when there's no indication of the gender or birth order of the speaker, you just default to "tita" and "palala"?
