Exactly. The first المُهَنْدِسَةُ is the subject of the sentence, the second مُهَنْدِسَةٌ together with the adjective ‘weird’ and the omitted ‘is’ is a predicate describing the subject.
It is a bit weird to repeat the noun but I guess they want to show the different case endings in this lesson. A noun loses nunation when the definite article is added.

It means strange or weird. I guess it could work to mean "unknown" depending on the context it's used in.
