Both are fine. If you put the possessor first, you have to repeat him after the preposition, like in your sentence. You can also just put the preposition in front of the possessor like in the suggested translation.

There is no (written/spoken) verb in this sentence. The verb (to be) is only implicitly assumed. In this sentence, you have to pur the possessor directly after عند, either by giving it directly عند جودي or by repeating it with a pronoun جودي عندها. If you do not put the possessor after عند the sentence gets a different meaning.
(If you have a verb you can do VSO or SVO. However, VSO has slightly different conjugation rules for the verb than SVO.)

My point is that Translation عِنْد جودي جاكيت جَميل sounds more correct (in my ears) than جودي عندها جاكيت جميل؟, Furthermore: If عند is a preposition as you say, is it possible to extend عند with ها (aindaha) as you do with verbs? Femininum singular-extension, pronoun-suffix. Just to shorten a long story I would make 2 sentences. عِنْد جودي جاكيت جَميل1 جودي عندها 2 Aindii Judy jackett jamila. Judy aindaha. BTW I was wrong about claiming pretty jackett as ackusative. It is not, it's still a nominative.

It is possible to add personal pronoun suffixes to prepositions as well. They are even the same suffixes as for verb objects (with the exception of 1st person singular (me) where verbs get ـني while prepositions just get ـي ).
For me, the common way to say it is the sentence of this exercise. عند جودي جاكيت جميل . I understand this either as a statement or as stressing that it is a pretty jacket that she owns.
Putting Judy first جودي عندها جاكيت جميل sounds to me like stressing that it is Judy who has a pretty jacket.
Of your two sentences, the first is sufficient. Your second sentence could mean ‘it is Judy who has it’ or even ‘she has Judy’, depending on the context. For just stating that Judy has a pretty jacket, nobody would add the second sentence.

Can someone explain why the word for pretty looks like jamila but sounds like janid? Am I the only one that hears it like that?

Why aren’t the words the same, when you push on the English word of that sentence and you cannot find that word in the World Bank, thus disabling you from knowing which word to choose, if you’re still learning how to spell the new word?
