In the US this is normally spoken as north south east & west

I am not sure they are trying to make a common phrase

Aku nggak yakin mereka coba bikin frasa umum.

That was my question as well. Is this normally how the directions are said?

For American English we say North, South, East, West. For Chinese, we say 东南西北 (east, south, west, north).
