Glitch in Italian tree affecting my German progress severely

I've been working on my German for a while now, and it's been going well. I recently added Italian to my languages to study on. There is now what I assume to be a bug in my German as well. Ever since I added Italian, my German skill tree has been acting up. I have finished the first lesson in my current section (Nominative Pronouns) at least 20 times now. Every time I get to the end of the lesson, I get the loading circle in the upper left corner, and that usually goes on for about a minute, and then I'm taken back to the Home, with absolutely no progress tracked. At first I thought it was just with that lesson, but now I can't even do other lessons or just practice; I always get to the end and then it freezes up with no sign of anything loading. Because I haven't been able to finish my lessons, it now shows my skills decaying on sections I've mastered. Any help would be appreciated.

This most likely has nothing to do with the Italian tree. Did your internet service provider change? Are you behind a proxy?

Neither of those are the issue it seems. It's not a browser issue either. I've tried 3 or 4 browsers and even on different computers. The only thing that I can think of is my account, or the fact it started acting up once I added the other language. Is there a way for the Duolingo staff to access my account and fix it up? Even if I got all my progress taken away I could still jump ahead using the Shortcut.
