One full year of Duolingo!
Not proud of how many streak freezes I had to use, but I've finally reached the 365-day milestone. I had to subscribe to an internet bundle on my phone for the specific purpose of doing Duolingo on the go. I've snuck to the restroom to do a little bit of Duolingo on an occasion or two. I probably wouldn't have done it everyday if it weren't for the streak, and I'm very grateful I did, because my French, German, Indonesian, Hebrew, and Portuguese, they've all became noticeably better once I did. I can watch French and German movies without subtitles, and I can have an actual conversation in Hebrew and Indonesian. Not Swedish though. I reached Level 25 in Swedish but I still can't speak it fluently, because it is so similar to English that I keep connecting Swedish words to their English counterparts when I see them, without committing them to memory in any way, and so I passively understand quite a bit of Swedish, but have trouble producing complex utterances fluently. Oh well, there's always next year!
I'm hoping to get at least two more languages to Level 25 by my 730th day. Most likely Portuguese and Russian, but I would definitely go for Japanese as well if Tree 2.0 comes out any time soon. I also want to get a golden owl in Hindi, Arabic, Turkish, and Hungarian. Wish me dedication!
J'aime bien Duolingo. Mir gefällt Duolingo. Aku suka Duolingo. אני אוהב דוולינגו. Jag älskar Duolingo. Eu gosto de Duolingo.
I think you are level 10 in more languages than I know how to say "hello" in haha very impressive!
I can watch French and German movies without subtitles
This is so cool. Honestly the thought of this being a possibility for me keeps me going.
Here's to another year: good luck OP!
Wow! well done!
I tried reading your flags as a semaphore message. I think they must say "I am an amazing Polyglot", Have a lingot - you deserve 50 but that would take me an age!
How can you learn so many languages at once without feeling confused? Very impressive!!
I'm impressed! I (yesterday) almost lost a 68 day streak! Great job! Here's lingots, you deserve lingots! ☺
Wow! I really admire your willpower to keep learning all these languages. Great job! I wish you the best of luck with your goal for the 720th day, but I think that as long as you're motivated you will definitely achieve it. And also congrats on your 365 day streak! :)
That's amazing! Bon courage. C'est génial et j'espere que vous pouvez prattiquer plus souvent.;
Congratulations on your commitment! I have also committed to doing Duolingo every day for the past 658 days! I have only had to use 2 streak freezes. I am just doing German though. Kudos on all the languages you know!
wow, amazing, bravo. I like you did it, I am going to have that goal also. Inspiring
I hope you will find learning those leanguages even more exciting then ever before :) have my lingot! never give up
Good job, I am now actively combining three languages. Mandarin, French and Spanish and looking at your achievements is inspiring.
wow this is amazing. I have just started with German and have no clue how do you know what level are you at, I can't see that in the app, can you help me find out? thanks and congrats
You're an inspiration :) That's really cool. I am particularly impressed at your dedication to Hebrew. I am currently working on Hindi and Hebrew on here and elsewhere! You cause me to keep on going! :)
Holy owl, are you a full-time duolingo learner or something? You know tariffs are the greatest right? So much WINNING!
Well done. I'm just coming up to 6 months but haven't done any individual language for long enough to claim any fluency. Perhaps I will by the time another 6 months have passed.
That's pretty amazing! I've gone well over a year now (without using any streak freezes), and I am nowhere near as accomplished as you in such a variety of languages! Congrats- have a lingot ;)
Wow, that is amazing! Did you achieve everything described above only using Duolingo? Congratulations one more time! Greetings from Bulgaria.
This is really impressive -- so many languages at level 10 or above! I agree that there's something crucial about daily practice that the streak system reinforces in a very important way. Keep up the good work and best of luck getting to day 730!
What is your native language? Im particularly impressed with your ability to watch french and german movies without subtitles. Im on level 25 spanish and still find it tremendously difficult to follow. Or perhaps I dont know how to listen properly. In any event, congratulations!
bagus sekali. jangan lupa datang ke Malaysia juga. Kami dan Indonesia mempunya bahasa dan budaya yang sama.
WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK YOU ARE SO FREAKING TALENTED YOU KNOW SO MANY LANGUAGES!!!!
Is it easier to learn multiple languages at a time or better to do one at a time? I am currently learning German and I love it but I am also interested in learning Italian and Spanish and Japanese (my daughter wants to learn Japanese so I want to with her) and several others. Would you recommend doing multiple languages at a time or stick with one until done with the lessons and then move on?
Great work!! I've also been about a year on Duo but I hope to become more dedicated. Thanks for your inspirational story, and keep up the great work!!
Great job. I say this because I cannot even be on this app for 30 days XD Send all the help to me!!!!!!!
this is really inspiring unfortunately for a while I've been losing my streak but from now on I try harder not to do because of this post, always keep going
Amazing! Really nice and motivational story too! I would just like to point out that in Portuguese we would use "do" rather than "de". :)
Great job!! I am nearly there too. 345 days so far for me. I am impressed more with the amount of languages you have been studying simultaneously. Tres Bien.
I'm also doing lessons daily, for the streak. But for past 3 months, i've been serious about learning German, and so I'm redoing the tree, top to bottom. I've been here for last 4 or 5 years(?), completed French. But can't remember anything of it, except a few words. I remember the accent though. But now, I'm trying to get fluent in German.
