Oliver Casserley - Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal

Oliver Casserley started using Duolingo four years ago to recover the Irish that he learned in school as a child, so that he could help his grandchildren with their schoolwork. Oliver was a regular commenter in the Irish sentence discussions, and at the end of May he asked for advice about maintaining his 1,227 day streak during a hospital stay for vascular surgery.

When I came across one of his comments in a sentence discussion yesterday, I noted that his streak had not been restarted, so I checked, and it seems that Oliver passed away shortly after his operation.

Rest in peace Oliver. I love that he felt it was never too late to (re)learn Gaeilge and how important it was to teach.
