Why does it matter where to put the English word yesterday in the translation? I think that "Yesterday did you see us?" is correct too.

Since wa'Hu' must go at the beginning of the sentence, but in English, "yesterday" can go at either the beginning or the end, I agree that this Klingon sentence must be equivalent to both of those English sentences. I have added your suggestion as an accepted alternative.
