I actually am enjoying learning the Hindi keyboard. I have chosen to type instead of the using the word bank. The reason I do this is because if I ever want to type anything using the Devanagari script in the future, I will need to know the keyboard. I like how Greek and Hebrew force you to use the keyboard at some point.
Learning to type Devanagari is whole course on it's own. I am getting the hang of it though. And it helps learning to understand and retain the words. Are you doing the Hindi for English speakers course or the reverse tree? I am now doing the reverse tree, but I keep forgetting it is that.
Any advice on a digital Hindi keyboard for windows PC? Trying not to buy a whole new physical keyboard just for lessons, and I don't care for the mobile app.
Keyboard layouts for all different languages are available as standard parts of the operating system.
For instance on Windows 10, select All settings → Time & Language → Language and then "+" "Add a preferred language".
After you have more than one keyboard layout installed, you can switch between them using the "Windows key" + "space bar" and then repeat "space bar" to go down the menu.
This shows you the Devanagari layout: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/InScript_keyboard#/media/File:Devanagari_INSCRIPT_Keyboard.JPG
And here is a website that lets you practice typing Hindi: https://play.typeracer.com/?universe=lang_hi
