Random Japanese Fact Part ((1))
Yo guys for those learning Japanese and planning to go, Facts are everything so pls read these and hopefully you will love them and learn from them XD. Yes, these are inspired by Todocat!
In Japanese, the name “Japan” is Nihon or Nippon, which means “Land of the Rising Sun.” It was once believed that Japan was the first country to see the sun rise in the East in the morning.
"It was once believed that Japan was the first country to see the sun rise in the East in the morning."
People know now, because the earth is round, "which country is the first to see the sun rise?" has no absolute answer. It depends on one's perspective. In history, the Japanese perspective is intrinsically tied to, and relative to that of China and Korea - and Japan does lie to the east of China and Korea.
In 607 AD, a Japanese emperor (possibly Empress Suiko) sent an ambassador to China with a letter that stated "The Son of Heaven in the land of the rising sun sends this letter to the Son of Heaven of the land where the sun sets." The Chinese emperor (Yang Guang, a.k.a. Emperor Yang of Sui) was pissed, and told his minister: "The barbarians are so rude. Stop delivering their letters to me!". (True story)
i've heard that story when i was around 8. i loved it. mind u i watched anime since the age of three
and if you type the kanji you can see the sun coming through the trees 日本. Well, one tree actually. The kanji for forest (mori 森) has a bunch of trees. But you get it.
