First time Dutch!
Hi there, I have just started learning Dutch, and It's not too bad! So to help me, does anyone have any tips?
Can anyone recommend any Dutch resources? Thanks very much, I look forward to learning more! :)
I recommend going to YouTube for the pronunciation of some of the sounds. Dutch has a lot of vowel sounds/combinations, some are a bit tricky and it’s hard to recognize/reproduce them if you don’t know the difference I find.
Good luck with this language :) I personally love it so far!
Thank you! Dutch sounds a lot like Welsh, so I'm kind of used to it! To some extent Dutch has some similar words to English.
The University of Groningen has a playlist of YouTube videos to help you get started with the pronunciation. You can find it here: https://www.rug.nl/language-centre/about-us/news/archive/pronunciation-videos
If you're interested in text books, Prisma's 'Dutch for Self-Study' course might be worth to have a look at. I've been using their Spanish and Russian self-study courses and I think they explain grammar very well. https://www.prisma.nl/producten/dutch-self-study-9789000351312
Good luck! Veel succes!
