Harry Potter in Swedish
Does anyone know where I can stream or buy the Harry Potter films in Swedish? I can't seem to find anywhere I can get them. Thanks in advance, Hannah :)
My blu-ray versions (1-3) from Germany have the Swedish dub. It's pretty good too. They are relatively old, though. So you should check if it says "Sprache: ... Schwedisch ..."
Oh, but I forgot that you might get a problem with regional codes depending on where your devices are from. They are a terrible invention, really. Might mean that the movies would have to be ripped.
Do a full forum search on
Potter Swedish; there are plenty of references to it, for instance Reading Harry Potter in Swedish, or Listening to audiobooks . . . . How to order Swedish books online says something about ordering, as do many other posts you'll find w/ the above search. There seem to be two large online Swedish bookstores that ship internationally, Bokus and another . . . Adlibris. Bokus states flat out that they do not ship to the U.S.; I don't know about Adlibris. I did see a comment just now in one of the posts that Bokus sells the e-books for U.S. download, as does Pottermore (see the first link above for the Pottermore URL).
Good luck! If you find a good source for Swedish hardcopy books, please post it!
That would be super if you would.
A lot of people have gone through the Duolingo Swedish course, but so far I have not seen a post where someone from the U.S. has reported buying printed books from Sweden by mail. You would think that someone has done this!
yeah I guess it could be pretty expensive to post it so far though. If from the UK so hopefully the postage won't be tooo expensive if i find a hard copy
I know you're more interested in the movies so I'll just add this: one of the comments I found yesterday mentioned ordering from Bokus for shipment to the UK with no problem. . . . however, I can't find the reference now. Anyway, best of luck getting the Swedish dub of the Harry Potter movies.
I ended up just buying the e-book as it was £10 cheaper that the hard copy. and i still cant find anywhere to get the films outside Sweden. The translation feature on the e-book if helpful though haha
I looked on barnes and noble online and they have versions only for the nook. Sorry i dont have a link but you can search harry potter in swedish. Also i would do some research, i was considering reading one as well and someone said that the english to swedish translation is really bad. But of course if you are still interested that is for you to decide whether the translation is up to your reading standards. Good luck.
Thanks for your help, I'll have a look on the website you suggested :)
Buy the e-book from B&N, install Calibre https://calibre-ebook.com/ , install the DeDRM tools https://apprenticealf.wordpress.com , import your B&N e-book into calibre, read YOUR epub ebook on any device with any epub application (Moon+ Reader Pro) http://www.moondownload.com/
Anyway, this is what I do here in the USA.
I don't know about the movies but I bought Harry Potter och dem vises sten as an ebook on pottermore.com. I'm pretty surprised by who "easy" I can read it! Because I've read the English and Dutch versions so often, I know what happens. So I read the Swedish I can understand and I fill in the rest. In this way I can read it! :)
