German Music

I've been studying German for a few years now (2.5, I believe), and I have found very few artists who sing in German, but I thought I'd show a few songs to you so you can listen to some German music, as I've found personally that it has helped me:

Namika - Lieblingsmensch

Cassandra Steen - Gebt Alles

Cro - Traum

Annett Louisan - Drück die Eins

Sarah Connor - Bedingungslos

Namika - Alles was zählt

If YOU have any other good German songs, please put them in the replies so we can all give them a listen and improve our German skills!

For crystal-clear, machine-gun, razor-sharp German, check out the vocal stylings of Ute Lemper. Plus, she's easy on the ears.

Also, the works (there are many recordings) of Kurt Weill, especially, Die Dreigroschenoper.

Rammstein may not be everyone's cup of tea, but the lead singer has an extremely clear voice. Watching a video helps to see how the words are formed as well.

I just realised I could actually post my youtube channel here so to find German music you can use that, I've been collecting German music on youtube for over 18mths as I do at least 40% of my German learning through music.. I have no videos of my own (so this is not a channel which makes any money) but via my channel you can view the play lists Ive created there (others videos Ive saved.. nearly all German things to help with my learning).

The one called "german music" .. is music which has both English and German subtitles to it. (I have a 124 german songs subtitled in both languages there)

For those who can do without the English subtitles and can get on with just using German subtitles, there one playlist titled as "german music 2 (no english subtites).

and my playlist called "german songs 3" . is German music which has no subtitles on it.

anyway, for those who are just starting out with the German check out the videos I have in the "german music" for the music which has both subtitles. play list https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1JG1Gq7LFrr19mtddYLocQ

Im excited about finding I can share youtube playlists here as I've put tons of time trying to find music videos so it's great if the time Ive put into it could help others

If you are more into Alt music check out Tokio Hotel ( specifically older stuff because it is sung in German however their English records are great too) and Silbermond. If you are more into singer songwriter check out Juli or Cristina Sturmer they also get a little pop-y at times. If you like Rap or Hiphop, Samy Deluxe is fantastic and a pretty good intro to German Hiphop.

Some people really like "Learn German with Jenny" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKEYdvCASwQ&list=PL5QyCnFPRx0GxaFjdAVkx7K9TfEklY4sg and others like "Learn German with Anja" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iB_sassbnOw&list=PLYzp2xhTw9W1Z9RvnCoveC0W7pkwUMHXy&index=2 (they both do A1 level course and then videos beyond this)... and Easy Geman is great for listening to various German conversations
