highs and lows of learning Spanish
"Llueve mucho aquí en el verano." After 7 months of Duolingo (and other forms of studding. I have to say I´ve put in a lot of time- italkie, youtube videos, Spanish radio etc...) I can understand these types of sentences no problem. It still kind of amazes me and makes me fill like I´m awsome.
I hear "radio nueva vida" and it takes me all week to figure out this out even though I know all those words....I suck.
I have my italkie lesson and talk for 45 min almost all in Spanish...I'm awsome.
Well you know where is headed right????
Onward and upward all you fellow language learners!!
Just cause you know the words doesn’t mean you know the meaning. But that’s just a part of learning! Onward, we all have room for improvement, don’t give up now!
I really struggle with radio and my worst nighmare is the phone.
Apart from that I can buy a bus ticket and even joke with the cashier in the shop.
Human contact - OKish.
Listening to disconnected voices - bad.
radio and songs are hard. Songs especially because things can be so poet.
Just keep at it! You got this! I am not good at all at learning languages, it takes a lot of effort for me. I've taken 6 years of Spanish in school, from 7th to 12th grade, and I still struggle hardcore to hold a conversation. I have a lot of trouble with understanding spoken words - I'm okay at reading and writing but I could be better. I'm minoring in Spanish for college and I'm hoping that being in a college setting will help me learn better. I'm also trying to absorb myself in the language more and do more with Duolingo. What I'm trying to say is I totally understand the struggle! But we can do it!
I can totally relate to that, i have been watching a serie on netflix lately called ''farina'' and eventhough i like the serie alot, it really brings down my confidence because i dont understand alot of what they are saying. On the other hand i feel like i have to watch these series because i want to better my listening skills. Que du(bi)o
If you haven´t put on the spanish subtitles. There was a language study done that found watching in target language with target language subtitles increased your knowledge by 16%. (target language with no subtitles 9%. Target language with english subtitles 0%)
