If I sign in with facebook can I merge my accounts so I won't lose all my work?

I signed up with a username and I want to merge with facebook because it just seems easier. Can it be done?

thank you :)

There's a button in the "Profile" section of your settings (which you can get to by hovering over your username on the top bar) that lets you connect your account to Facebook. I'm not sure if that will let you use Facebook for login or not but you could try.

This actually worked, thanks! :)

You can also set your email address for your existing account to the email you use for your Facebook account, then Sign Up with Facebook from the splash page.

I wonder if this could help my situation where I have two accounts both with a nice chunk of XP and I want to just merge them into one. We accidentally signed up on two devices and this created the two accounts. Thoughts?

I don't think it's possible to merge accounts. I tried to do that because I accidentally created another account using a different email address before realizing it, one using Google and the other using facebook(the one I use, but now disconnected from facebook). I hope duolingo considers adding the feature of merging 2 accounts, after verifying that both accounts belong to the same user/person, of course.

The only solution I can think of(hopefully it's allowed) is to use the same email address(and variants) in both accounts, if you don't want to deactivate any/both of them.
