Level 16 in Spanish

I need 1600 points to move from level 15 to 16 and have mastered all topics. That's a lot of translating at 15 points or so per translation. Am I missing something?

No you're not missing anything the whole goal of Duolingo is to get you to translate content from the web.

The levels are supposed to be accurate measures of ability. Is there a specific reason you want a higher level rank? I don't think you get any perks for being higher level.
