Missing Audio on Answer buttons. Incomplete and Frustrating
The lesson questions that have you click the word choices after listening to the audio or reading a sentence are incomplete and frustrating due to the audio of some of the answer selections.
First, the incomplete part. There is recorded audio for maybe 1/5 to 1/4 of the words. I am not gaining much from hearing "estas" 7-15 levels in. I have heard it at this point hundreds of times.
Second, the frustrating part. While it would be one thing if it was incomplete, the real problem is the idea. When you are listening to the sentence being read aloud, if you start to click an answer it will interrupt the reading and stop it from continuing. You then have to click the audio button again to have it restart the sentence(s) after it finishes saying the word you clicked.
Can we just all agree to remove the audio from the answer selectable words as they are both incomplete and a major annoyance?
I would encourage you to spend some time reading the other posts on the forum. There's lots of good information there - including an answer to your concern here.
Basically, as I understand it, Duolingo rolled out a new feature. The course volunteers (of which, for the record, I am not one) were caught off guard by this - and suddenly had the job of recording thousands of words. Until that job is done, learners will continue to have the experience you describe. Nobody reading your message has the power to do anything about this.
I would suggest reporting this as a bug report on support.duolingo.com - and mention that you understand that it's going to take time for these words to all be recorded, and in the meanwhile, support should disable the audio of the word tiles, or give users the ability to do the same.
Sorry bruh... I did look for other posts. I didn't see any. I wasn't going to spend hours looking for what would be a pinned post on any other forum. I'll be sure to read every one from now on so I can slam others who ask instead of linking.
That response also missed my point on it being disruptive. I have reported it as well. Thanks for your advice on that. That is appreciated.
They have apparently started to fix that issue. More and more sound of the words appear. Just give them time.
Why don't you just mute your device just for those problems and carry on?
You can't mute the audio for the audio questions without missing out on learning the spoken language. The problem is not the audio for the sentence (problem) the problem is that the answer words dont all have audio and if they do, they are not valuable.
