"The witch is casting a spell" would sound more natural. "Bewitching" is a bit of strange word in English, with synonyms like enchanting, captivating, entrancing, enrapturing, beguiling, enthralling, spellbinding. It's rather dated -- and I'm not recommending it :) -- but to call a woman "bewitching" could be considered a compliment. I don't think it is a word typically used to describe a man -- but -- things change ...
