Suddenly I'm Not Receiving Lingots?!
I didn't receive 125 lingots for reaching a 1250 day winning streak. Also, I spent 5 lingots on "Double or Nothing" and received ZERO, even though I won the seven day streak. What is going on with Duolingo? Could someone help me out here?
I have stopped receiving lingots for my streak and my post regarding that was downvoted out of existence. I still have time in my latest double or nothing wager. not paying off on that would indeed be cheating on the part of duolingo. best of luck.
I have the same problem I should have received 32 lingots yesterday for my 320 day streak.
Same problem here. Ten days ago, I received 37 lingots for 370 days, but today, I didn't get
38 any lingots for my 380 day streak.
Every ten days, I use the browser version especially for this.
Once again preparing an unpopular change without telling your users, Duo? I hate being A/B tested this way.
Here exact the same :), ten days ago I also got those 37 lingots but today, for 380 streak day, nothing.
Same with me, didn't get a reward for my 640 day streak yesterday, but had still been working with 630 days 11 days ago.
How long have you had this problem? I also have time on my "Double or Nothing" wager. I'm hoping for the best or that someone from Duolingo responds. I'd pay to support Duolingo, but I've never received a response from Duolingo when having problems or a question regarding anything. You'd think someone from Duolingo would check out the troubleshooting discussions. The question I had before was also downvoted, so I just gave up on that.
This happened to me also about 4 days ago, I didn't receive the 91 lingots I was expecting. So get this.... go to your SHOP page and you'll see that Duolingo doesn't offer lingots anymore for 10 day streaks! It's no where to be found.
The same is happening to me as well. I reached a streak of 1340 today and so I was due 134 lingots, but I haven't had any.
It looks like they may just be getting rid of lingots altogether. I don't know. It sucks to work that long and then this happens.
There's a lot of posts at the moment regarding this same subject. I'm not sure it matter much... it's not like there is anything you can do with them.
They offer bonus skills, timed tests, and they used to progress quizzes. I figured they'd add more, but they took away instead.
Duolingo is replacing lingots with gems. I DO hope they mean "replaced." I spent 1254 days earning those damned things.
Hey Matthew, do you think the link to the article you posted is an older one? Like around a year ago when they initiated it with the iOS users? Regardless, I can remember that they were unhappy with the gem system and I thought they were eliminating that also. Wow, there have been a lot of changes lately.
I don't know if it's older. Whether it is or not, Duolingo is not sharing something with many of us. E.g., I didn't get 10 lingots after a seven day winning streak, and that cost 5. I didn't receive 125 when reaching my 1250 day winning streak. Yet they email me everyday with messages that say, e.g., "you are on a 1254 day streak! Use Duolingo today to make it 1255," and so on. I'm just fed up.
Do you get the feeling that Duolingo are constantly watching what we lab-rats do when they make the weekly changes to the maze?
This was a plan many years ago and only got implemented on iOS. In the meantime more languages have been added and the new ones on iOS don´t have gems. This should have started years ago but they never finished or turned back the change.
By now - and after a quick read-trough the linked post - it looked to me as if only the symbol is replaced? For me, it makes no difference if it's called "Lingot store" or "Diamond store" or whatever - or have I missed something?

It seems they were removed. If you go to the shop it no longer states you will get lingots for maintaining your streak. It still claims you will get lingots for leveling up but this has never been the case for me.
On the streak lingots: Did you do that day on mobile or desktop? Mobile doesn't pay out for streak days (for me anyway—your results may vary). I got 104 lingots a couple of days ago when I reached 1040 days (Edit: I mean I did it on desktop that day). Double or Nothing: No idea, it's always worked for me.
I did it on my desktop. I'm just going to wait to see what happens in the next couple of days. Since I do see others getting screwed over on their winning streaks, I'm not bothered by it that much. I'm just hoping Duolingo will give us gems to replace our lingots with so that these long winning streaks weren't for nothing.

I will admit losing lingots would be frustrating, especially if that was your motivation, but if they could maybe tell us then they would soften the blow. I don't use my lingots tho, I just give 'em out so I don't know
I was going to support Duolingo, but since they don't tell us and don't have any real customer support, I can't support them. It's a shame really. The progress report quizzes would be nice to have. I hardly use lingots myself as well.
